ABOUT THIS PROGRAM
Highway 37 is a vital east-west transportation corridor connecting Marin, Sonoma, Napa, and Solano counties. Yet the highway faces significant challenges, including severe traffic congestion, increasing vulnerability to flooding and sea-level rise, and the need for major infrastructure improvements. Plans are underway to address near-term traffic bottlenecks while developing a long-term strategy for a more resilient highway. These efforts raise important questions about construction schedules, environmental impacts, project costs, and the potential use of tolls to finance improvements. Learn what changes are coming, when they might happen, how they will be funded, and what they mean for Marin County residents.
Join the Marin Coalition for an informative discussion with Anne Richman, Executive Director of the Transportation Authority of Marin (TAM); James Muller, Acting Director of the San Francisco Estuary Partnership; and Javier Mendivil, Regional Project Manager for State Route 37, Caltrans District 4. Our panelists will discuss current and proposed improvements, the challenges of protecting the highway and surrounding wetlands from rising sea levels, and the complex planning for Highway 37’s future. Learn more about what improvements motorists can expect in the coming years and the long-term vision for the corridor.
