At the Marin Coalition’s March 4, 2020 luncheon, Susan Kirsch, Community Organizing Consultant & Founder of Livable California, spoke on the subject of “Housing, Income Inequity, and Loss of Local Control: What’s the Real Crisis & What Are the Solutions?”. Speaking from the audience, Phyllis Metcalf, vice chair of the Corte Madera Planning Commission, presented an alternative point-of-view.

The effort to revitalize Marin City’s Golden Gate Village took another step forward, but not in the direction that the resident council supports. he issue of the future of the Golden Gate Village complex was the subject of the June 2019 Marin Coalition luncheon event.

The Marin IJ published an editorial on February 3, 2020 titled “Well-planned Measure C will reduce wildfire risk”. The Marin Coalition held an event on November 6, 2019 on this same subject titled “Marin’s New Wildfire Prevention Authority and Proposed County Parcel Tax”. The Thursday September 19, 2019 edition of the Marin IJ had the following article regarding preliminary plans to rehabilitate Golden Gate Village in Marin City which are getting poor reviews from some critics. The status of Golden Gate Village was the subject of a Marin Coalition luncheon in June 2019.

The San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of the Sierra Club published the following article on August 9, 2019 regarding Marin Housing Authority’s plans for Golden Gate Village. The Village was the topic of our recent June 2019 event.

There were two timely articles in recent issues of the Marin Independent Journal. These subjects were addressed at our April 3, 2019 event by our Speakers, Nicholas Nguyen, Principal Project Manager The Transportation Authority of Marin, and Dianne Steinhauser, P.E.Transportation Authority of Marin
