March 25, 2019 IJ Article: Large pothole on Richmond-San Rafael Bridge causes traffic delays
Quote: “A large pothole on the westbound span of the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge caused headaches for commuters for more than two hours Monday morning.
Caltrans has been working to repair the westbound span of the bridge since February after large chunks of concrete fell from the upper level onto eastbound traffic. After the cause of the damage was determined to be a failed sliding plate joint, Caltrans is now working to replace many of the joints on the upper and lower spans throughout this year.”
