A Message from Marin Coalition on Racial Equality and COVID-19

Dear Members and Friends,

No one can stay silent during this time of national soul-searching and the opportunity to participate in the crucial effort to make ours a better country.

There is simply no denying that as a nation we have failed to confront racial inequity. Despite progress over our nation’s 244-year history, we have farther to go to achieve racial justice. Now is the time to “seize the moment”, a point at which we can have dialogue and action to improve our community, state, and nation in meaningful ways.

At Marin Coalition, we believe that frank and honest discussion of our past and present policies, laws, practices, and social norms is the path to solutions. Our mission is one of facilitating and engaging dialogue leading to the exchange of ideas on issues that affect us as Marinites. We endeavor to present programs that address economic and social disparities here where we live. Some of our recent programs have included redevelopment of Golden Gate Village and broader topics addressing housing and income inequality and climate change.

We vow to redouble our efforts to bring people together for conversations that matter.

Finally, know that while the present COVID-19 pandemic prevents us from gathering in a physical space, we are actively working on presenting some of our programs this fall through “virtual” means. Please watch for announcements in the coming weeks.

We invite you to join us as we work to improve our community through conversations that matter.

Thanks for being a part of the dialogue.
